Maintenance¶
LiDAR and optics¶
Never touch the LiDAR surface with your fingers
- Clean with microfibre only, in a single light pass, without pressure.
- A scratch on the protective dome deflects the laser and corrupts the LiDAR readings.
- The LiDAR sees through the plastic dome. Contamination degrades its data, so remove the dome to clean it.
Batteries¶
- Each indicator segment is 25% of charge.
- Runtime is about 2 hours of continuous operation. A full day requires a second battery.
- G1 and Go2 batteries are not interchangeable, and different G1 battery variants require different chargers. Do not substitute something that looks similar.
- The charger runs at 5 V and connects to any power source or computer.
Storage and idle periods¶
- Idle during the day: suspend the robot on the frame and switch it to Damping. Otherwise it falls when the battery runs out.
- Long-term storage: remove the battery from the robot.
- For development, keep the robot suspended on the gantry with the power cable connected.
Lifting and shutdown¶
Keep your hands off the joints
Do not place your hands on the hip or knee joints when lifting the robot. They pinch.
Power off only when the robot is supported
Power the robot off only when it is suspended on the frame or seated on a chair, and in Damping. A standing robot with no support falls flat and can be damaged.
Forced shutdown — remote control dead, robot unresponsive: suspend the robot on the frame with its feet off the ground and at least 2 m of clear space, then press the battery button short, then long.
After shutdown, fit the arm and foot joint stops as required for storage so that the next startup runs correctly.
Tools¶
- The head is removed with a Torx driver, not a hex key.
- The case includes a T-handle driver and pliers. Buy hex keys separately — the supplied ones are poor.
- Do not lose the small calibration braces. They are easy to misplace, and calibration is impossible without them. Keep them in the case.
