Workspace preparation

Environment requirements

Parameter Requirement
Clear space At least 2 metres to obstacles, uneven terrain, people and water
Temperature 0…40 °C, good weather only
Moisture and dust The robot is neither waterproof nor dustproof. Do not operate on a wet floor, in rain, on gravel, or in dust
Floor Do not operate on ice or on soft flooring such as thick carpet. On tile, gloss and glass, reduce speed and avoid sharp movements
Interference Do not operate near power lines or communication towers. If Wi-Fi is disrupted, switch off unnecessary signal sources
Maximum speed Up to 2 m/s on a level floor
Battery runtime ~2 hours of continuous operation

The 2-metre rule applies in every direction. For Dance mode, clear at least 3 metres.

Pre-session checklist

  1. Clear the space. At least 2 m in every direction. The floor must be level, dry and non-slip.

  2. Check the battery charge. Each unlit segment on the indicator is −25%. A battery gives about 2 hours of continuous operation, which does not cover a full teaching day — bring a second battery.

  3. Do not mix up batteries and chargers. The G1 battery is not compatible with the Go2 battery, and different G1 battery variants require different chargers.

    Danger

Fitting the wrong battery or charger damages the equipment. Check the labels every time.

  4. Remove the protective film from the camera lens if it is still fitted, and check that the LiDAR dome is clean.

  5. Check the remote control. Confirm you have the G1 remote and not the Go2 remote — both live in the same case and are labelled. Compare the legend printed on the remote body against the controls reference.

  6. Check the firmware version in the mobile application under About. Older revisions map the mode functions to L1 instead of L2.

  7. Decide about the head. The head is the component most often damaged and most often modified. Before an active demonstration with students, remove it or suspend the robot on the gantry. Removal requires a Torx driver, not a hex key.
