Training plan

Practise independently

Work through this list before the next session. Start with the emergency stop and drill it until it is automatic.

  • Emergency stop L2+B — drill this first, to the point of reflex
  • Soft stop with a single press of START
  • Power-on and power-off to procedure, including the ≥2 s hold and the one-minute wait
  • The full startup chain: Zero Torque → L2+B → L2+↑ → R2+A
  • Posture transitions: L2+A squat, L2+← seated, L2+X lying and standing
  • Standing the robot up from the floor
  • Walking, turning, and switching speeds (2× L2 / 2× L1)
  • Drift compensation from the remote (R1 + arrows)
  • Interactive gestures (SELECT+A / +Y / +X)
  • Dance mode with the required clear space
  • Connecting the application in AP mode
  • Demo Teaching — record and replay your own gesture
  • Building a LiDAR map and a patrol route
  • Mounting the robot on the gantry and removing it

Requires an instructor present

These are not to be attempted without an instructor:

  • Full calibration
  • Low-level joint control
  • Any work that involves opening the body

Session structure for instructors

  1. Run the pre-session checklist before students enter the room.
  2. Brief every new group on how to stop the robot before the robot is powered on.
  3. Keep the robot on the gantry for anything beyond basic walking and gestures.
  4. Clear 3 m in every direction before Dance mode, and confirm nobody stands in front of the robot.
  5. Shut down to procedure: squat or suspend, confirm Damping, then power off.
